Why this name?

January 25, 2007

“Freude, schoener Goetterfunken, Toechter aus Elysium” is the incipit of Friedrich Schiller’s Hymn to Joy that Ludwig van Beethoven used for his IX Symphony. That means: “Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee, God of glory” but curiously the translation from German to English does not sound the same meaning.

The writer of this blog speaks 4 languages and two half. She has a little big confusion in her brain (not only about languages, also about life, love, world, people and so on). In this space she would approach the issues dependent of the comparison towards (a rethoric of) every day life and language
